Will CBD make me high?
Unlike Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the other main cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant, CBD is non-psychoactive and naturally non-intoxicating. This means that it does not produce the feeling of “being high”. CBD is known to counteract the effects of THC’s mind-altering properties while providing a more calming and relaxing feeling.

Is CBD safe to use?
The safety of CBD prolonged use has not been scientifically proven. In some studies, the use of pure CBD does not seem to indicate any abuse or dependence potential in humans, nor is there evidence of any public health-related problems associated with it. Because the industry is currently unregulated, the quality of the CBD product is hard to gauge for consumers and for this reason it is important for consumers to be careful.

What are carrier oils and their purpose?
Most commercially available CBD oil products contain Cannabidiol Hemp Extract along with a carrier oil. Some of the most common carrier oils are Hemp Seed Oil, MCT Oil, Avocado Oil, Olive Oil, Grape Seed Oil, and Palm Oil. Carrier oils make the CBD more efficient, thus increasing its bioavailability and making it easier for the body to process it. Each different carrier oil produces its own flavor profile and some are close to flavorless.

Can I drive or operate a motor vehicle/machinery after taking CBD?
As long as the CBD you consume has zero THC or THC levels below 0.3%, it is less likely that it may impair your ability to drive or operate motor vehicles. However, each person reacts to CBD differently and until you know how you react to CBD, it is advisable to be careful. Taking large doses of CBD could potentially cause drowsiness.

How long does it take to feel the effects of CBD?
Many variables determine how long it takes for CBD to take effect in the body, including the method of use, body weight, quantity/quality of the CBD, amongst others. Studies have shown that CBD that is inhaled or vaped or taken sublingually (under the tongue) reaches the bloodstream faster than when it is combined with other digestible ingredients (smoothies, brownies, gummies, etc). CBD in topicals generally takes longer to absorb through the skin. Though it can vary from person to person, it can take anywhere from 10 – 45 minutes to feel the effects of CBD and the full effect may be seen only after continual/consistent use.
